Statement Of Purpose

From the early days of my childhood, I have always had a fascination with electronics and mechanics. I have always felt an urge to understand how things work and what makes them tick. I have experimented technology throughout my life and have taught myself how to take apart and repair a variety of Computers, electronics, and other various technologies. In the classroom and on the job, I consider myself a hands-on learner and a quick study. Computers and Information Technology come naturally to me. The IT and Cybersecurity world is an ever-changing and ever-expanding world and with that it brings exciting new challenges and possibilities for our connected world. Because of this, I feel more committed than ever to a career in the field of information technology and computer science.

Currently I am completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Information technology with a focus in cybersecurity at Southern New Hampshire University through their online program. This program has presented unique challenges and pushed me to be more deliberate in my pursuit of knowledge. While pursuing this degree I have maintained a full-time work schedule in the talent acquisition industry as a senior recruiter. This role has given me a unique insight into what it takes to be successful in the IT industry and what I need to bring to the table for future employers. While it has not been an easy process juggling a full-time workload and a full-time school load, I have done my best to ensure I am delivering the best possible work I can to both my professional and student careers.

I will be completing my Degree pursuit in November of 2022 and will be pursuing certifications in Comp TIA A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), and my PMP. I have knowledge of computer building, Installation and Deployment, Software integration, Windows and Microsoft based applications, Networking, Server Administration, Construction, Smart home technologies, and Customer service. I am looking to leverage these and other skills to gain a role in the IT industry and begin my IT career. Ideally I would like to find a role with a Government entity or government contractor.
